For as long as I can remember, I’ve been driven by one simple idea: when we learn something that changes our lives, we have a responsibility to share it.

That’s what the MetFix and Broken Science Initiative are built on — learning, testing, questioning, and bringing clarity to what truly drives human performance and health.

Over time, one theme has become impossible to ignore: our modern diet is working against us, quietly eroding metabolic function and setting the stage for fatigue, inflammation, and chronic disease.

And one of the biggest culprits? Seed oils.


Why Start with Seed Oils?

We’re launching a short, focused series called The Seed Oil Awareness Challenge, designed to help you see what’s been hiding in plain sight.

Seed oils — like canola, soybean, corn, sunflower, safflower, grapeseed, and “vegetable oil” — are now a foundation of most processed foods. They’ve been marketed as “heart-healthy” for decades, yet growing evidence shows they disrupt metabolic health, drive inflammation, and damage the very systems that keep our energy and insulin balanced.

At the MetFix Foundations Seminar, they explained it through a simple analogy: Your cells are like a nightclub. Insulin is the promoter, inviting nutrients in. Reactive oxygen species*— “Ross the bouncer” — keep order.

But when seed oils and refined carbohydrates flood the system, the bouncer gets confused. Too much gets in. The club overcrowds. The walls stiffen. Energy leaks out.

That’s the beginning of insulin resistance, the root of obesity, low energy, and chronic disease.
