The September Member of the Month, is Emily Hermanson! Emily shows up every morning at 6AM no matter what the WOD is. She’s always coming in with a smile and a bright burst of energy that gets the class going. Congratulations Emily!
What do you do for work?
I work part time doing floral design for Flair Floral in Plymouth.
What would you like us to know about you and your family?
I have three kiddos 7, 6 and 4, I live in Halifax and have been married for 8 years.
What is one thing that we may not know about you.
I lived in San Diego for about 5 years and I hate heights but can climb the rope.
How long have you been CrossFitting?
I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 2 years.
What time do you typically train?
6AM!
What is your favorite lift and why?
I hate deadlifts, oh that’s wasn’t the question. I don’t mind snatches.
What is your favorite WOD and why?
I can’t think of a specific WOD… but like longer metcons that involve running, wall balls and such.
What are your current CF goals?
Ring muscle ups.
What are your current life goals?
Live a happy and successful life!
What is your most memorable time as a CrossFitter?
My first big jump from being a beginner. My first class I was a hot mess, I didn’t know what a burpee was and was completely lost. My most memorable moment was when movements became somewhat second nature, I understood the format and felt comfortable. Getting dubs was fun also.
How has CF impacted your life outside of the box?
It’s given me confidence to push myself out of my comfort zone in other areas of my life. I love being a part of the cult. I’ve encouraged others to drink the kool aide too.
How would you best describe Cynergy to others?
Cynergy is a great group of people! I’ve met some amazing friends, it’s welcoming and relaxed. I look forward to going (mostly) everyday.
