What do you do for work?

I am a Senior Software Engineer, working remotely for a company based in Texas, called Realpage, Inc.

What would you like us to know about you and your family?

That we value and appreciate the Cynergy community! Ya’ll keep us moving!

What is one thing that we may not know about you?

I love all things Horror and Halloween. I’m not able to do it as often as I’d like anymore, but I also do special effects makeup – mostly gory stuff. Feel free to follow my Insta account if you want to see some of my work: @ill.n.fx

I’m also slightly obsessed with pizza. So much so that I have branded my body with a homage to all things za.

How long have you been CrossFitting?

I started at Quincy City CrossFit in 2016, so roughly 7 years.

What time do you typically train?

5am crew! I have always preferred to get workouts done and over with lol.

What is your favorite lift and why?

I would have to say it’s between squat cleans and deadlifts. Both of which are my higher weight PRs for Olympic lifting. I feel a lot more brave/comfortable with these movements, so that’s likely the reason why I like them the most.

What is your favorite WOD and why?

If I had to pick one, I guess it would be MURPH. I love the energy that WOD brings. Everyone knows it’s brutal, but it’s still fun.

What are your current life goals?

Being healthy in a holistic manner. Being the best dad and husband, I can be. Continuing to grow and master my crafts (Software Development, Pizza making, special effects makeup)

What is your most memorable time as a CrossFitter?

I think it was likely when I got in the best shape of my life before my wedding in Jamaica. At the time, my wife and I were going to Quincy City CrossFit. I was going like 6 days a week and we were doing Macros with Cindy. I have never in my life, been that shredded. It made me feel so confident and proud on one of the happiest days of my life.

How has CF impacted your life outside of the box?

It has given me confidence in obtaining wellness goals. There have been two instances where I wanted to lose weight, and I was able to accomplish that because of the support system CrossFit provides. Overall, the community makes the grind worth it! It keeps me motivated to show up and go big.
