Big Congratulations to @siegelje79! Nutrition is a marathon. Consistency over time is the name of the game. Jeff has done everything I have thrown at him, macros, detox and of course strength training (look at that back!). This is what steady progress looks like:
* lost 35 pounds
* dropped 9% Body Fat
* gained 5% muscle mass
* lost 13 years off his body age
* decreased his visceral fat by 5 points
Here’s what Jeff has to say about his journey:
1. What were your expectations for the program?
I wanted to be more healthy and loose the weight that seems harder to lose as I get older. I wanted to feel more energetic…wake up with “pep in my step.” I wanted my new way of eating to be a foundation…to be more accomplished in the gym, and not feel tore up after an intense workout.
2. What is the biggest takeaway you have or habit you have gained?
To read and understand all food labels. I am able to eat so much with minimal to sometimes no counting of macros. I’m still losing weight, feeling full, and not feeling guilty. The knowledge and habits are easy once adapted to. I’m going to keep on doing what I’m doing… it is ok to have a guilty pleasure every now and then.
3. Do you feel you were successful, and what does that mean for you?
I feel incredibly successful! I have lost weight, improved my stats, my clothes are not only fitting, but are beginning to feel loose. I don’t feel groggy. I love how I’m not missing the food that isn’t the best for me. I’m excited to try new recipes when cooking, or alter ones I’ve used to make them better for me and still taste great.
4. Have you had improvements in sleep, mood, anxiety, recovery. Etc?
Sleep – 100%! Getting up use to be a chore, but it no longer feels that way. If I get up in the middle of the night I go right back to sleep with no issue as well.
I do enjoy a drink, and at some point will introduce a drink now and then back into my life. However, I feel so different in a positive way without alcohol in my life. It’s a real eye opener.
5. What advice do you have for people thinking of going on a nutrition Journey?
Be open minded and embrace the program. The first week or so may be rough. Adjusting to new habits and missing foods that aren’t so good for you…giving you instant satisfaction but no pure healthy nutrients. Trust the process…it becomes easy if you do find it hard to begin with! I’m on the road for work 100% of the time…flight attendant life…but I made it happen and you are able to do the same! When the going gets tough, remember Cynergy training…the coaches…will be there to help and guide you.
