5K Fun Run/Walk this Saturday

Please join your hosts, Jilly and Gaynor, as we raise funds to support wounded soldiers via The Red Sox Foundation/Run to Home Base 2012. We’ll be having a 5K Fun Run starting at Jill’s house followed by a cookout and 50/50 raffle.

Run will kick off around noon with lunch and a quality hang to follow. Please feel free to bring the beverage of your choice, but we’ll have sodas, water and juice boxes for the kids.

Donations are voluntary but would be tremendously appreciated! Let’s let those who risk their lives defending our nation know we are still behind them when they need it most.

Even if you choose not to run or walk, come hang out. We’d love the support! thanks!

This was a close race for 1st , 2nd and 3rd place this week with Team Sham Rockers representing CrossFit Southie taking first place!  Congratulations guys!

Sunday Morning Service, 2/12/12

1) Complete one pistol every 20 seconds; alternate legs each interval. 10 minutes total.

2) In teams of 2, complete the following:
A) 150m Row + 10 Box Jumps

B) 150m Row + 10 Wall Ball

-First athlete completes Part A, then second athlete completes Part A… Then first athlete completes Part B, then second athlete completes Part B. That is one rounds.
-Complete 5 rounds

Great job today on both the skill portion and the team workout.

Please sign up for the CF Open… we are well over 60 athletes, but we are striving for 100% participation… You have nothing to lose!!

From 2-4pm today, Colleen Egan and I will be competing in the “V-Day Relay” at CATZ in Hingham (35 Pond Park Road). This is not a CrossFit facility/event, and we have NO IDEA what they are going to ask us to do. If anyone is looking for something to do, we’d love a cheering squad!

U.S. Army Sergeant Jason “Mick” McCluskey, 26, of McAlester, Oklahoma, assigned to the 27th Engineer Battalion, 20th Engineer Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps, based out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, was killed on November 4, 2010, when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire in Zarghun Shahr, Mohammad Agha district, Afghanistan. He is survived by his son Landen, and his mother Delores Olivares.
