About CrossFit
What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a fitness philosophy that feels true health and fitness is attained by training a wide variety of functional movements and executing them at high intensity. To put it more simply, imagine 3 different people: an Olympic athlete, a firefighter, and a grandmother. All 3 have basically the same needs regarding human performance — all 3 need to be able to squat, pick up things off the ground, place objects up over their heads, etc etc etc. However, the intensity of what they do and their reasons for doing it are the variable.
We believe that there are 10 components of fitness, ranging from the obvious things like strength and endurance to more subtle things like balance, speed, and coordination. No matter who you are or what your goals are, your life can be improved by improving these 10 components.
Who can CrossFit?
As stated above, CrossFit works for a wide range of people. Our classes are made up a variety of athletes. It is common to have soldiers, MMA fighters, soccer moms, and senior citizens all working out side by side. The basic workout is the same for everyone; it’s the intensity we change to meet individual needs. We can adjust weight up or down, scale movements to train around injuries or deficiencies, etc. The end result is that everyone gets a great workout scaled appropriately to their abilities.
What to expect?
You will see a group ranging from 4 to 15 athletes of all abilities working out together. You won’t see any machines in the gym other than rowers; YOU ARE THE MACHINE. You can expect a lot of coaching to teach you proper execution of various movements. We use a lot of “Bumper Plates” (rubber weights), which allows our athletes to just drop weights, so sometimes it gets a little noisy. You will find that the people in there work out with a lot of intensity, but are completely nice and supportive of one another. The workout is different every day, so you will never be bored.
Schedule?
We have a very extensive training schedule. We offer classes 7 days a week. See times here.
How much does it cost?
Cynergy offers very competitive pricing and discounts for families and law enforcement/firefighters/military – and their spouses.

All new members are also required to go through our Foundations program. It is a small group class with one of our certified coaches that teaches you the fundamentals of our program. Click here for more information.
Why so expensive?
The short answer to this question is that you get what you pay for. We are not going to put you in a Nautilus machine and make you do 3 sets of 10. We are going to teach you how to move, covering everything from basic gymnastics to Olympic Weightlifting and powerlifting to a whole lot more. There’s a high degree of knowledge and skill that our coaches possess that you will benefit from.
If you break down the monthly cost, it works out to $8.75 per class (assuming you attend 20 classes per month– it could be more or less). A low-end personal trainer would be a minimum of $35.00/hour.
Furthermore, truth being told, your average gym doesn’t want you to come. It makes its money for people who sign contracts and then don’t show up. At Cynergy, if you don’t show up for a week, you can expect a call or email from a coach wondering what the problem is.
