We have been ‘Supporting our Troops” every Friday by proudly sporting our Red Shirts and gutting through some very tough HERO WODs …AND you guys have been AMAZING! The energy and drive you give to these WODs in memory of those who have passed is inspiring! Now, we have the very unique opportunity to support the men and women currently serving through a special WOD that we planned for Friday, August 10th called Legion Onslaught.
We have had the pleasure of being in communication with Jason Schulz M CPT USA E/1-508 Commander who is in charge of the Parachute Infantry Regiment currently stationed in Southern Afghanistan. We thank Sam Linn from WOD for Warriors for introducing us!
These soldiers are in need of some CrossFit equipment and we wanted to show our support by hosting a fundraiser WOD in their honor on August 10th.
We have some of the equipment and supplies they have asked for and you can register and donate as little as $5 to help us send these basic supplies to them.
We encourage other affiliates to “join us” in this WOD on Friday, August 10th and do this WOD at your Box. Wear red to show your support and post your photos and scores! If you have any CrossFit affiliate t-shirts you can donate – please get those to us by August 10th – they LOVE to get CrossFit gear!
If you want to order or donate a CCF Red t-shirt you MUST register by July 27th.
Affiliate T-Shirts and other donations are due at Cynergy CrossFit no later than August 10, 2012.
We will be shipping the materials on Saturday, August 11th.
We appreciate your prompt response to this request and truly appreciate your support!
Big thanks to Sam Linn form WOD for Warriors for his generous offer to cover some of the cost of our t-shirts! We will proudly display their logo on the sleeve of our Red Cynergy CrossFit T-Shirts!
WOD – LEGION ONSLAUGHT
This WOD was created by Captain Schultz and performed by his troops for their Legion Fitness Challenge in April 2012.
It has two parts:
- AMRAP 5 minutes of ground to overhead with either 95lbs or 65lbs for males and 65 or 45 lbs for females.
- Measure the height of each person’s reach. The first part sets the score for the second part.
- Multiply the height (in inches) times the weight times the reps.
- Divide that by 600 (number of seconds the length of part one is).
Example: (50 reps x 84in reach x 95lbs)/600 = 1330. So their base score is 1330. Points are converted to seconds (in this case 1330 = 22min 10 seconds).
They then have 30 Seconds to rest.
Part 2: For time
- 50 wallballs @20lbs
- 40 Double unders
- 30 ABMAT Situps with 24KG KB on chest
- 20 Pullups
- 100 METERS of broad jump burpees
Subtract the time in Part 2 from the time in Part 1 for your score.
