My CCF family,
Writing this through blurry, teary eyes is not easy. I’m sure most of you have spoken with me, or heard otherwise, that I am moving to Louisville, KY this week. I work for such a great company that is growing exponentially. I will be opening up the Louisville, KY showroom for lululemon athletica. Literally finding real estate, building my fitting rooms, painting walls, I suppose using a drill (yikes!), decorating and creating my space from nothing. My job will be to introduce this community to lululemon by going to yoga, other fitness classes, CROSSFIT (yup, there are 5 affiliates!) and creating relationships. I know I can kick a*s at this gig! So excited to make it my own!
I came to CCF a little less than 4 years ago, after I knocked on Maureen Lane’s office door and inquired about some boot camp that I heard she was taking in Hanson (I worked at her office). Thank you, Mel! If it weren’t for you, I may have never come to Cynergy.
To think about the growth, certainly not just fitness-wise, but personally, that I have had because of this community is unreal. I came in shy-ish, not much confidence and could hardly do 10 sit ups. You’ve seen me transition through jobs and life circumstances. I am forever grateful for all of your coaching, guidance, advice, endless support, LAUGHS (there is no other group of people I’d rather laugh with!), encouragement, beer-drinking pull up games, wildly fun Christmas parties and love. Some of my closest friends have come out of this gym, friends that I know will continue to be my best, even though I’m 1,011 miles away. Not having this family everyday is going to be one of the hardest things to adjust to.
I promise to be a better Facebook friend once I’m settled. I will keep all of you posted on my adventure (you’ll have to find lululemon athletica Louisville and “like” us on FB).
I would love to write a flippin’ tribute you each and every one of you – if only I had the time!
To Cindy and Keith, hats off to you both. To look around and see the friendships, partnerships, relationships, vacation-fun and fitness-adventures that have come out of Cynergy Training is truly unmatched by anyplace else. This thing called the CrossFit Community – Cynergy is the epitome of what that means. It really is because of you! I thank you both for opening up this place, bringing me onboard and help to develop me.
I hope you all can make it to Colleen and Steve Egan’s home this Tuesday evening, starting at 5 p.m.! Any questions about location and deets, email Chip at firstname.lastname@example.org.
With all my love and smiles,
“You really should make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” Alexander Supertramp
