“Oh **** !… I KNEW this would be the workout today!!!!”

Test: Max rep effort of push-ups for one minute (chest must hit the deck and arms must reach full extension to count)

Followed by everyone’s favorite WOD:

400m Walking Lunge for time.

Great job by everyone today. All kidding aside, it has been a tough week of training and today was just the icing on the cake. Nice efforts all around this morning… as the saying goes, “Embrace the Suck!”

    In and of itself a lunge is not that hard…(yes i hear Cindy’s voice with every one..”keep your chest up,don, back straight!!”) but still..all in all a lunge is a lunge…but the twist..(and there is always a twist) is the 400m part…thats when it all changes..once again this workout is not so much about the physical it is the mental..no, once again my time was not the ‘best’ but it was what it was…a challenege met…its about breaking it down to size…keeping one foot in front of next..of breaking down 400m into ‘the next light pole….that drain cover..the corner..that damn line…the mailbox..the squashed up knuckle bandaid..the wooden fence…the corner of that parking space and those damn little orange cones.’ Its about getting up the next day and putting my sneaks on and headin up RT 27…and in all that is what keeps me lovin “the embrace of the suck” because this really is about elite fitness for life..or better yet for living..for keeping at it, keepin one foot in front of the next..of breaking down the “big” challanges into the manageable…about embracing “the suck” in order to move past and on.
    (hmm sorry for waxing on so long but lunges for 400m gave me a lot of time to think…)

    Great post Don! Exactly how DanBr and I did it at 5am..Broke it down all the way! We embraced “the suck” and conquered it! Great WOD Chip! Thanks Dan!
