How sugar affects our Health

We always hear that sugar is bad for us and can affect us in many ways.
Here is a list of ways sugar can affect your health:
- Sugar can suppress the immune system.
- Sugar can upset the body’s mineral balance.
- Sugar can contribute to hyperactivity, anxiety, depression, concentration difficulties, and crankiness in children.
- Sugar can produce a significant rise in triglycerides.
- Sugar can cause drowsiness and decreased activity in children.
- Sugar can reduce helpful high density cholesterol (HDLs).
- Sugar can promote an elevation of harmful cholesterol (LDLs).
- Sugar can cause hypoglycemia.
- Sugar contributes to a weakened defense against bacterial infection.
- Sugar can cause kidney damage.
- Sugar can increase the risk of coronary heart disease.
- Sugar may lead to chromium deficiency.
- Sugar can cause copper deficiency.
- Sugar interferes with absorption of calcium and magnesium.

Thanks Cara. Very useful information. Working in the health care field I am amazed at the number of people I see who would rather take drugs to control their sugar levels than cut it out of their diets.

Agreed! Great stuff Cara. I guess we all sort of assume we know about nutrition and what we should be doing, whether we are or not. I lost a significant amount of weight last year but only recently have a better idea of how different foods affect our bodies, the huge benefits of unprocessed organic whole foods and even when we eat them. Due a great deal, Cara, to you and Cynergy for bringing it to the forefront. So, thank you!
