Well, tough stuff this time of year. I admit….I fell off HARD the week of the 4th! Not that it was nasty eating all day everyday, but there were definite cheat meals (and more than 2!)

Back ON this week and looking forward to feeling better. Maureen, thanks for the website! I will check out some of these recipes.

what a journey this has been for all of us! This challenge has forched me to pay close attention to what goes into my mouth. On top of paying attention to what I am consuming I am also paying very close attention to what happens after I consume food. I find by paying attention to my energy levels, mind clarity, GI system, strength + endurence etc I crave poor food choices less and less. my increased awarenesss of the negative outcomes makes eating clean easier.

I have fallen off the wagon alot these past 2 weeks but have been clean for a few days now! I feel great and look forward to the second half of our challenge!

I had been doing pretty well until vacation and then like Holly, fell off HARD! I felt like crap and was glad to get back to healthy eating and am feeling better this week. I do find myself missing grains – last night at the grocery store, I almost tackled a guy in the parking lot to steal his Cheerios! The above site looks like it has some good recipes for things like spinach pesto, turkey breakfast sausage, almond flour crackers, that I am going to try making.

I was really surprised at getting through the long weekend without falling of “hard” as Holly put it. And the biggest surprise is that I didn’t even miss the brownies, cakes and cookies that were all around me. I don’t even think about them and that is from someone who was addicted to chocolate chip cookies. My cheat meal this weekend was zone cereal with milk!!

Have been doing paleo 80-90%. Still having protein drinks and zone bars around my workouts. The rest of the meals are pretty strict paleo. The weekends are definitely not as strict. The hardest thing was giving up the cheese.

I think what keeps me going is that my clothes are falling off me and every time I step on the scale its down again.

Like everyone else, I fell off the wagon this weekend, oh well! Beyond that, I love this diet! I have done weight watchers and everything else in the past and this is definately the easiest to stick too. I thought by not counting point or calories I would definately gain weight but instead, I have achieved just the opposite! I absolutely have more energy and I feel great! I have been getting some great recipes by googling Paleo and all kinds of things come up. Also, I strongly recomend reading the Paleo book, it helped make me understand why I should eat this way and why it works and makes me feel good!

I have been following the Paleo diet about 80-90%. My exceptions are small dairy portions (non-fat or low-fat cheese and occasional rice cakes (with cashew or almond butter). I don’t miss the sweets and I feel better on a daily basis without the sugar highs and lows. I need help with energy for long endurance exercise (8-17 hours non-stop)so please chime in with any advice. I have to take a sugar supplements and electrolyte tablets to keep going for three+ hours. By six hours, I am too nauseous to eat anything at all. Now, without the pasta, I feel like I am starting the day on empty. A banana will calm the hunger, but that is gone within the first 45 minutes. Then I still have hours of work ahead of me. Anyone with experience in nutrition for long endurance events- I would appreciate the help. This has been a problem for years and I need to figure it out!

Diana, I would highly recommend the book, Paleo Diet for Athletes.
    http://www.amazon.com/Paleo-Diet-Athletes-Nutritional-Performance/dp/1594860890

It is specifically written for long distance training and has a different take on increasing fats for long term storage.
    Check it out!!

I admire you all for making this commitment. I am truly “weak” in this department and would never sign up for this challenge b/c I would never see it though. Good for you all!
