Heroes among us
By Jamie | March 27, 2009
~Christopher Reeves
I think this quote sums up the past three months during Cynergy’s 2nd annual “First Responder’s Challenge.” From day one, we as members of the Cynergy community have thought that you were all heroes in your own right, for undertaking the important task of protecting, serving, and securing your community’s streets, homes, and ultimately their lives. That alone, shows your character. But after what I have personally witnessed over the past three months has amazed me. From tackling your first challenge, to learning even more about being a team player, and conquering goals that you have set for yourself, you have all impressed us! You are ordinary men and woman that have presevered through challenges, both mental and physical, and I want to thank you for becoming apart of our community–I hope most of you continue your journey here and look forward to seeing you all!
Good luck tomorrow–you will all impress us, yet again!
~Jamie

Thanks for the kind words! It has been great working out with everyone at Cynergy.
Here is an upcoming 5k for a fallen hero.
The Officer Thomas Giunta Memorial 5k takes place on April 5th in Fall River, MA. A group us of from Marshfield are going and we enjoy the run every year.

I couldn’t have said it any better Jamie. I am so glad you thought to give everyone a shout out. Every single one of you deserve recognition for what comes naturally to each of you day in and day out.
Thank You!

As a first responder I want to thank the entire Cynergy family. From day one you all made all us (First responders) welcome. I was amazed at how close everyone was and all the support everyone gives eachother. As the days went on I found myself cheering everyone on and felt a huge deal of pride for them when they fought through whatever WOD they were battling. AS the butterflies start to rise up in my stomach as I look forward to Saturday’s challenge I know that everyone there will give us all the support that I have become used to and appreciate. I will be staying on at cynergy. I can now never train anyway else or anywhere else. Thank you again to everyone at cynergy and I look forward to fighting through more WOD’s with you all.

It’s been an absolute blast training all of you and I hope most of you will stay and train with us when this challenge is over. Because this is one of many more to come!
It’s been such a gift getting to know all of you and watching you succeed. Thank you for your service, and most of all tomorrow… MOVE YOUR ASS!!!!

I could launch into a long winded comment here about how fantastic it has been to get to know a whole bunch of new people, and how I’m likely in better shape now than I have been in YEARS, and how I’ve learned so much about myself in the padt three months, etc, etc, etc. But instead I’ll just say that I like y’all at Cynergy so much that I’ve decided to drink the Kool Aid and sign on for at least the next 12 months. I want to stick around and give Keith the opportunity to find a way for me to get 135 lbs over my head.

The First Responder’s Challenge has proven, again, to add a great deal of excitement (and entertainment!) into these 3 long months of winter. It has been a sincere pleasure getting to know you, shoot you, lift with you, run with you and collapse with you! Congratulations to all!
I can’t wait until January for the next batch of fresh recruits – with that fear of the unknown glistening in their eyes – and do it all over again!
