Crossfit Totals for Wednesday!

By Boot Camp | June 25, 2008

Hey Everyone!

Congratulations on the truly eye-opening totals for the crossfit lifts of the back squat, shoulder press, and the deadlift today!  I couldn’t believe the amazing numbers on the board–it is a definite testament of how intense everyone works, day in and day out, and we all deserve a job well done.  We can only thank the training and support at Cynergy for helping us reach our totals.

All day I had really been pondering about my totals, personally.  I thought “What could I have done different?” or “If I tried it again, could I do it?” or a million other excuses to why my totals weren’t up to par with my standards.  Then, after witnessing the incredible numbers, again, at the PM class, I realized that the totals aren’t what totally encompasses our fitness.  It’s the support from our peers, the dedication we have to our health, and the overwhelming “big picture” that we all share to better our lives, together.  So I don’t want to say that the totals don’t matter, but in the end, you cannot compare yourself to anyone else–if you are working hard, staying focused, and pushing yourself to your limits, you are achieving the standards that you set forth.   We all have our various strengths and weaknesses: some people can lift hundreds of pounds on their back, others can do 50 burpees without breaking a sweat–whatever the task, the point is that we are doing it, and excelling at the challenges we are setting for ourselves, which is far beyond what I have ever imagined, personally.  So after taking a minute to reflect I realized that my totals don’t define my time at Cynergy, because it has been priceless and invaluable, and that everyone should be so proud of every milestone that they accomplish every day at Cynergy–we all are working toward the “big picture” of living a long, healthy and happy life.  It all goes back to one of Keith’s favorite sayings, “Remember Why You Are Here”–then you can be proud of any feat you accomplish.  Again, Congrats to everyone that participated today, and we all should be amazed with what we can accomplish individually and as a whole.

Now let’s go out Saturday and show everyone, especially ourselves, what Cynergy has helped us achieve!

    Jamie,
You said it PERFECT!! So much of it comes from the endless support we receive every time we walk into Cynergy. Great article…looking forward to Saturday!

Well done Jamie! We all have our strengths - and we all have each other when confronted with our areas that “need improvement.” That’s what sets the peeps of Cynergy Nation apart from the rest!!

Jamie, I love how you decided to process your “disappointment” with your numbers yesterday. I heard and witnessed your frustration as you posted your numbers on the white board and at the same time I also witnessed an incredible drive, determination and all out effort from you with each and every lift. You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of! You were focused, driven and going for all you had in you…..none of us can ask more than that! I am proud of you! And I appreciate you expressing to everyone, what you walked away with yesterday. A true champion in my book! BRAVO!!

Hey Jamie, Well said! I don’t think anyone can say that they didn’t have the same type of thought process at some point after the workout. Part of the “could I have done more” thinking is what brings us back to Cynergy day after day. With the support and training we receive when we walk through the door, we can do anything we set our mind to. I have never done a max lift total and really didn’t know what to expect. Great job to everyone! You all rock! I must say though, my biggest compliment came out of the blue. My fifteen year old son frequently asks what I did at the gym and he was blown away when I told him my max numbers for each lift. Wait until I show him everyones numbers….

Jaime, You get it! The whole process of working out and developing is to take on what ever obstacle comes your way and conquer it. With time and effort not only do you become the physical person you want to be, you become the person who can handle anything life gives you!

Great Job Jaime and everyone who tested themselves yesterday! Very impressive!

This is great, Jamie! Thank you for the “big picture” reminder. It a good thing for us all to think about when we just want to ignore the alarm in the a.m. or go sit on the couch in the p.m.

    Jamie,
What a great article! I am psyched you are so focused and could turn that at first disappointing experience into something so positive and so true. You are a role model for all of us with your rock solid attitude. You now know that nothing can stop you! Great job.
