East Coast Challenge

By Keith | June 4, 2008

As you know 5 of us travelled to Albany NY for the east Coast challenge this week end…..Congratulations to Alex, Chip, Sue and John for competing. It was a great time and we were able not only to meet some really great crossfitters from other parts of the country, but were able to compete at a very high level. We were essentially the [wo]man in the ring.

All of us at some point or another during the week end event were able to log a Personal Best in some if not all of our lifts during the competition. The results were tremendous and showed that our athletes worked incredibly hard to prepare and should be proud of the work and the results they have achieved!

On Saturday we competed in the Crossfit Total and the 5 K road race.

Cynergy results:

Crossfit Total: Combined lift totals for Dead lift, Shoulder Press, & Back Squat.

Alex: 925 lb. Personal Best & 2nd place in 198 lb division!

Chip: 775 lb. Personal best

Keith : 830 lb. Personal Best

John Llewellyn: 745 lb. Personal Best

Sue Llewellyn: 405 Lb. Personal Best & 1st. Place in womens 165 lb. Division!

In the afternoon, after the down pour and in the sweltering humidity and sun we ran in the road race. The results for the hardest 5K Road Race in the world [and when I mean hardest....I mean the hardest....]were as follows:

Alex: 19.45 & First Place in the Mens division of Crossfitters!

Chip: 24.25

Keith : 29:45

John Llewellyn: 28.15

Sue Llewellyn: 30.20

And in the final stretch on Sunday @ 10 am. we competed in the Hopper event…..The hopper event consisted of:

1000 M Row to start:

5 Rounds for time of:

21 Sumo High Pulls 95 lb for men/65lb for women

15 Burpees

9 Thrusters95 lb for men/65lb for women

No one in the field was able to finish……but Cynergy Crossfitters were able to finish:

Alex: 3 Rounds plus High Pulls and Burpees

Chip: 3 Rounds plus 5 High pulls

Keith : 2 Rounds plus High Pulls and Burpees

John Llewellyn: 2 Rounds plus High Pulls and 10 Burpees

Sue Llewellyn:3 Rounds which was 9th overall in the womens category.

A special Congrats to Alex!! Alex finished 5th Place overall in a field of some of the countries most fit crossfitters and athletes.

Super Job Alex! That is a huge accomplishment!

First I want to congratulate Sue for her outstanding achievement. She put her heart and soul into preparing for this and it shows. Keith, Chip and Alex all made Cynergy proud. It was a great time spending the weekend with these guys and their dedication to this sport was evident. Finally, I want to thank both Keith and Cindy. I don’t know if you guys know just how much of a positive impact you have on people’s lives – but you do! You have created an environment that fosters change in people’s lifestyle. Words alone cannot describe the positive impact that you have had for Sue and I, and for that we are both extremely grateful. Thank you for you.

Chip, Chief, and Sue were awesome in Albany. Honestly, I am proud to say I was up there on the same team with you all. Keith, cant say enough about your effort there, and all you do at home. Thank you so much for talking Chip and I into going, and lighting a fire under us to be better crossfitters.

Like Chip said…..Wait til next year!! This was a great experience that all should be a part of, no matter the skill or fitness level.
